We're in for one HELL of a winter.

We all know that the election of November 3 will usher in a wicked, wicked winter...

...but that's not what this post is about.

If you didn't grow up in farm country, this may be news to you, but it's long been known that the best predictor of the severity of the winter to come is the Woolly Bear Worm, a caterpillar that grows a thick black coat with a rust-colored band in the middle. The thickness of that rust band is the indicator of how bad the winter will be; a wide band means a mild winter, and a narrow band a severe one. I can tell you that in half a century of this knowledge, I've never seen it not be accurate. I mean that.

There's something else I've never seen in that time--a solid black Woolly Worm.

Until now.

Get your snow boots out, boys--at least on the East Coast, it's going to be a wicked winter in more than just the political sense. And speaking of sense, doesn't that make sense, given how the rest of 2020 has gone?

Lol... Didn't see "Brown woolly worms" on my 2020 bingo card!

DRATS!

Yeah, they replaced Murder Hornets last month. You probably just need to change your cards.
