Are you going to come and protect my wife and kids when im sitting in jail????
so if its on my area yes but if its somewhere else no. If its wide spread enough to be in a town of 800 im gonna do what needs to be done.
But i aint gonna go looking for trouble.

Quote from Marc Sayer on August 31, 2020, 1:04 PMI think whether someone or some group goes to someplace to offer assistance is very much situational. But remember that the narrative that Kyle went to Kenosha to fight the rioters has been debunked. He was already there working as a lifeguard. He had friends there. He was living there. All he did was agree to help a business in trouble the town where he was. And offer first aid to anyone. No, as a rule I think you are right, we all should protect our "home turf" if you will. But if it is a viable option and a person or a group wants to go help protect citizens and their businesses at some other location, I do not see that as inherently wrong. Yes, anyone considering doing such a thing should make preparations, for example maybe you send your family here to me where they will be safe*before* you head out. Or get them someplace safe. Or make sure they do have a protection detail in place. To leave them at risk to go protect someone else, would be foolish.
Which does bring up another point. Some of us have located to places that will essentially be safe until the rest of the country has fallen, and maybe even beyond that. And perhaps some of those of us in that situation could offer sanctuary for families of militia, just as we talked about offering protection and safe houses for law enforcement.
