CDF Rules of Engagement (Effective 6 January 2021)

Notice is hereby given that Civilian Defense Force members mobilized to provide protection to communities, neighborhoods, and civilians will adhere to the following rules of engagement. Anyone violating these rules does so entirely at their own risk and responsibility:

CDF members involved in protection activities will take necessary action to prevent serious injury and/or death to themselves or those civilians over whom they are extending protection.
Anyone advancing on civilians peacefully demonstrating, or on members of the public protecting them (including CDF member personnel), may be considered an imminent threat of serious bodily injury or death. Such actors will be directed to STOP and IDENTIFY THEMSELVES and their intentions. This warning will be given ONCE.
Failure to follow the stop-and-identify directive and, if an imminent threat is perceived, all orders that follow, may result in overwhelming lethal force being used without further notice upon the entire group, including those identifying as “journalists” and “medics” since this ruse has been utilized in the recent past by nefarious actors.
The Civilian Defense Force takes the risk of serious injury and death from groups such as these very seriously. We will protect our communities, neighborhoods, and civilians with a zero tolerance policy when the risk is perceived as real and life-threatening.
